What do you know about King Salman’s International Centre for Peace?
In Alekhbaria (Saudi Arabia, translated from Arabic into English)
That author of the article states that Saudi Arabia has always been sticking to the principle of supporting global peace everywhere and has shown dignity and respect through its support of humanitarian initiatives, always having in mind the good of mankind without any discrimination on the basis of race, religion or other aspects. Among the outcomes of the recent trip through Asia by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, has been the agreement to establish an International Peace Centre in Malaysia, a project that has been announced in a joint official statement with the Malaysian government.
The leadership of KSA does not stop, in King Salman’s current trip as well as during his trip to Indonesia he met with some of the most influential religious leaders both Islamic and from other religions. He advocated for the importance of communication and dialogue among followers of different cultures and religions to enhance values of reconciliation and that religions seek to protect human rights and ensure human happiness. It is important to fight extremism in all religions and cultures.
He also said that KSA has adopted interreligious and intercultural dialogue as a practice and this is shown in its establishment of KAICIID in Vienna, with the hope that KSA can be part of the solution to enhance dialogue among others. This is not the only example as of lately, on 8 February 2017 on the occasion of World Interfaith Harmony Week, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had a prominent role in its participation in the events at KAICIID – which was established in 2012 with Austria, Spain and the Vatican as a Founding Observer.”
Saudi newspapers highlight industrial strategies and the “green card” and Aramco contracts and the rise of the Riyal
In UAE News (United Arab Emirates, translated from Arabic into English)
Saudi newspapers published on Thursday report about a session of official talks held by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and the Prime Minister of the UK, Theresa May, in Riyadh yesterday. On the agenda were the bilateral relations between the two countries as well as all aspects of cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Issues of regional and international relevance were also discussed.
A spokesperson of «Downing Street» stated that talks between the King and Theresa May focused on security, economic issues and the strengthening of relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, noting that the British prime minister stressed that security relations between Saudi Arabia and Britain have contributed to save many lives.
The papers also report about Saudi Arabia’s Green Card program and its additional features and services, which had long been awaited by Saudi Arabia’s expat community. The newspapers furthermore reported on the value of «Aramco», which is now worth USD 3 billion, equivalent to about 11.25 billion riyals.
The President of the Committee of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al Alsanad, stated that “Saudi Arabia has always been serving humanity”, highlighting the fact that the Kingdom has launched a number of initiatives in this regard, for example the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), which clearly shows the Kingdom’s efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
What the U.S. is funding now violates EVERY single aspect of common sense

One of my favorite movies is “Dave” starring Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. You might remember the plot…the sitting president needed a body double, well, for some nefarious reason, but Kline’s character bore an exact resemblance.
When the actual president suffered a massive stroke, the powers that be decided to keep the common man, Dave, in the position to avoid causing a national stir. Actually, it was all about a power hungry chief of staff who saw an opening for himself. But what was engaging about the film was that an everyday fella, who worked at a job placement firm, took a common sense approach to governing.
The most memorable part was when Dave brought in his accountant friend played by Charles Grodin and overnight they did a line-by-line analysis of the federal budget in preparation for a cabinet meeting. The cabinet meeting the following day was absolutely comical as the common man steps in and presents something uncommon to Washington D.C.
I truly believe we need life to imitate art when it applies to that vignette and what we have today. And a recent revelation is a testimony to this need.
As reported by the Jewish News Service, JNS.org, “Amid growing congressional concern about the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) misuse of U.S. aid, a major mainstream American Jewish organization has been quietly lobbying Congress to cover the PA’s unpaid bills at a Jerusalem hospital.
JNS.org has learned that for the past several years, senior officials of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) have undertaken the task of pressing U.S. officials, including members of Congress, to pay millions in unpaid bills the PA has racked up at the Lutheran-sponsored Augusta Victoria hospital in eastern Jerusalem.
At the beginning of 2014, the hospital was more than $19 million in the red due to “non-payment of fees for patients that are referred to the hospital by the Palestinian Authority,” according to a Lutheran World Federation press release, which added that the PA “pledged to pay for the treatment of these patients but it has not been able to uphold its commitments.”
At the end of that year, the PA made a payment of $263,000 and left the remaining $16.6 million unpaid. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA)—the country’s largest Lutheran denomination—enlisted the AJC to ask Washington to foot the PA’s bills. Rabbi David Rosen, AJC’s Jerusalem-based international director of interreligious affairs, said he and other leaders from the organization have lobbied members of Congress and U.S. officials to pay the bills. Rosen said he also has spoken to the U.S. ambassador and consul general in Israel about the hospital’s financial problems. In response to the lobbying, the U.S. sent Augusta Victoria $13 million in 2014, another $13 million in 2015 and an unspecified amount in 2016.”
Here is where I take issue. We here in the United States are having a real issue providing our veterans timely, effective and efficient healthcare services. And here we are sending millions of dollars to pay for hospital services for the original Islamic terrorist organization, the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) who now goes by PA, but is really Fatah (…)
Buhari: A legacy of sorrow, carnage, tragedy and affliction by Fani-Kayode
Femi Fani-Kayode, a foremost thought leader in Nigeria, studies the trajectory of the Muhammadu Buhari regime with regards to the number of lives lost in tragic circumstances under the president’s watch. Four hundred people were killed by meningitis in our country in the last few days.
Twenty-two girls were abducted by Boko Haram in Borno state four days ago. Ten people were killed by Fulani herdsmen in Cross Rivers state three days ago. Two more people were killed by another set of Fulani herdsmen in Kwande, Benue state two days ago.
Worse still suicide amongst Nigerian professionals (including bankers, lawyers and doctors) and members of the middle class as a consequence of the harsh and intolerable economic conditions that they are facing has reached alarming and epidemic proportions.
Sorrow, carnage, tragedy and affliction has struck our nation in the last few days and weeks yet we have not heard ONE word about any of them from our ailing President.
Worse still the only thing that Buhari’s struggling Minister of Health has said is that the federal government needs to borrow one billion USD to stop the spread of meningitis. Clearly, we are in serious trouble (…)
Northern Nigeria needs prayer. They need to reach Prophet T.B. Joshua, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, Dr. Sign Fireman, Dr. B.O Ezekiel, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Dr. Tony Rapu and as many other servants of God as possible and get them to stand in the gap and invoke the Living God’s power to forgive, heal and bless their land.
They also need as much love and counselling as they can get.
